Dr. Paul Mesack

Dr. Paul Mesack

Dr. Paul Mesack received his undergraduate degree from Albion College in 1967. He spent three years in the army and returned to Michigan State University where he received his Doctor of Veterinary medicine degree in 1973. After practicing for three years in Anchorage Alaska, Dr. Mesack returned to Michigan and has been with the Grayling Hospital for Animals since 1976. He is currently the owner of the Grayling Hospital for Animals and the Roscommon Veterinary Clinic both accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Mesack is a past president of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. He and his wife Judi have a daughter and her family living in Holt, Michigan, and a son and his family living in Washington, DC. They also have two dogs and one cat to keep them company at home.

Dr. Troy Fairbanks

Dr. Troy Fairbanks

Dr. Troy Fairbanks graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He has worked at the Roscommon Veterinary Clinic since 1993. He enjoys the variety of cases that a general practice small animal clinic has to offer.

Dr. Fairbanks is married to Nancy Martindale, they have two children, Joshua and Joslyn. Their family also includes 2 dogs, Sheamus and Sparty and a cat named Crackers. Dr. Fairbanks enjoys photography, golf, skiing, and kayaking.

Dr. Katherine Powning

Dr. Katherine Powning

Dr. Powning joined the team in July 2011. She attended Michigan State University for both her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is currently the Co-president of the Northern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and has participated in MVMA’s Young Professional Task Force and the Power of Ten Leadership Group in the past. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, 3 cats, and a Golden Retriever.

Dr. Barbara Craig

Dr. Barbara Craig

Dr. Craig is a 1986 graduate of the University of Tennessee. She started her own practice in Chattanooga, TN, in 1989 and sold it in 2012. Starting in 2014 she has been traveling around the country in an RV with her Chihuahua Molly, working as an interim veterinarian at various animal hospitals. So far her adventures have taken her to Pennsylvania, Maine, Florida, Yellowstone National Park and most recently Arizona. Her hobbies include gardening, travel, hiking, skiing, and RV’ing. She is excited to call Grayling her new home.
